A City in the Park


The southeast corner of Chesterfield was called Hardscrabble, Nash City (after one of the families that settled the area), and Fullam Pond.  Now, some of it lays in Pisqah State Park.  Several stories have emerged from the colorful folk who used to call it home.  Vanette Emery, founder of the Chesterfield Historical Society, wrote about them in this excerpt from the March 1982 Chesterfield News.
